Know Your Numbers Week 2022

From the 5th to 11th September we're supporting national Know Your Numbers Week, to reduce preventable harm and death from high blood pressure.
Half of all strokes and heart attacks are caused by high blood pressure and six million people in the UK have the condition but are unaware.
Know Your Numbers encourages people to take regular blood pressure readings so they know whether they are at risk and can take action if they are.
The theme of this year's campaign is: Measure, Modify, Manage.
Greater awareness, monitoring and management of high blood pressure is part of our overall ambition to support our residents to live well. By promoting self-checking we aim to support people to have greater control and knowledge over their own health and wellbeing.
There is a range of factors that contributes to a person having raised or high blood pressure. These can be lifestyle factors - such as diet and overall fitness - as well as genetic, or related to other health conditions.
By taking a quick and easy test people can be better informed about their blood pressure and can take action or seek help as appropriate.
Residents of Surrey Heath are currently benefiting from pop-up blood pressure events across the borough, with free checks being offered in a range of locations. Find out more here.
Staff from across Frimley Health and Care have shared some of their personal experiences of high blood pressure. You can find them and much more information on high blood pressure here.
We'll be putting out information and promoting the campaign on our social media channels, so please look out for the messages and add your support.
