Frimley VCSE Alliance launches

Tuesday, July 16, saw the launch of the Frimley Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Alliance with an online event attended by approximately 100 representatives of charities, community groups, social enterprises and faith groups who undertake community work within the geographical footprint of Frimley Integrated Care System.
During the event attendees heard from Sarah Bellars, Chief Nursing Officer at NHS Frimley and Philip Bell, CEO of Involve Community Services in Bracknell Forest. They shared their vision of the Alliance as an equal partner with NHS Frimley to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the Frimley health and care system. Attendees also heard more about the background of the Alliance, and how they could become involved in an ongoing way to support VCSE Alliance ambitions including co-producing and shaping strategies, plans and services to reduce inequalities and deliver improved health and wellbeing for populations.
The second part of the event offered the opportunity to participate in breakout room discussions, which aligned with the ambitions laid out in Frimley Health and Care's Healthier Communities Strategy. The breakout rooms focused on the themes below:
  • Starting well
  • Living well
  • Aging well
  • Learning Disabilities, Autism and Neurodiversity
Facilitators fed back that attendees showed a strong appetite for further exploration, discussion and networking in this way and demonstrated the rich insight that the VCSE sector can bring to conversations.
More detailed information about the insight gathered in the meantime, it is still possible for voluntary sector organisations to register to become a member of the Alliance so please share this opportunity with anyone you feel might be interested: frimleyvcsealliance.org.uk/membership
